If you’re at my page, the reason is likely that either yourself or someone you care about is suffering. The frustration, confusion, and overall pain has reached a point where something needs to shift and you need help knowing how to start that transition. I am here to support you, or your loved one, through a variety of counselling and psychotherapy approaches to help you develop lasting changes in your life.

There are two approaches to counselling psychotherapy that I use in sessions:

Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt therapy is an experiential and humanistic approach to counselling and psychotherapy, that works with both your thoughts and your emotions, to help you gain a deeper understanding of where and how you’re stuck in your life, with yourself and your experiences, and helps you reconnect with your intuition. Gestalt therapists don’t only pay attention to you, but also the context you find yourself in. This is a key part of who you are.

Brainspotting
PTSD, emotional chronic pain, performance issues (sports, public speaking etc.) to name a few, there’s one thing they all have in common. They’re often symptoms of a recent, or older, pattern of distress that’s become stuck in our brain and nervous system (for example, you might notice that not only do you have disconnected thoughts, but also that your body might feel uncomfortable). Those patterns are looking to process their way through to a finishing point, but for a number of reasons, is unable to do so. Brainspotting works to bring attention to these trapped patterns. This lets the pattern begin to move and resolve. By working at that level, science has shown that these patterns can be weakened or resolved altogether.

 

These approaches offer clinically proven ways to support people in working through challenges that are new, or ones they have been struggling with for years. I encourage my clients to share their history, and get them back in touch with the creative and intuitive parts of themselves, to help them trust their own gut again. Whether you have a specific issue you are looking to finally deconstruct and move past, or you want to work on wisdom and self development through long-term therapy, it is my goal to support you towards who you want to become.
